Executive/Senior Executive/Assistant Manager – Payroll

Desired qualifications: The ideal candidate for this role should possess a commerce degree (such as B Com, BBM, MBA, CA Inter, Mcom, etc.) and have prior experience working in a finance department. Specifically, they should have a strong background in payroll functions and be able to work closely with the HR team to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee payroll.

Key skills and experience required for the position: 

  • Ability to validate data received from HR-Payroll
  • Expertise in payroll functions such as PF, ESI, PT, TDS, and bank payments, and familiarity with labor laws
  • Sound knowledge of income tax regulations including IT Sections, eligible deductions, tax computation, and issuing Form-16
  • Experience with statutory filings (monthly/Qly/Yearly) to various departments such as PF, PT, ESI, TDS, etc., including preparation of challans and schedules
  • Full and final settlement experience for resigned employees
  • Ability to prepare reports and conduct analysis related to payroll
  • Competency in passing necessary accounting entries in books
  • Proficiency in Oracle or any other accounting software and experience using payroll-related tools such as Ascent-HR, Adrenalin, Spine, etc.
  • Preparation of various reports such as payroll schedule, developing and issuing pay slips

Overall, the candidate should have a strong understanding of payroll processes and related statutory requirements, as well as a keen eye for detail and accuracy. Additionally, experience with accounting software and payroll-related tools will be valuable assets in this role.

  • Experience in preparing financial statements and reports, including Trial Balance, P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow, and notes to accounts
  • In-depth knowledge of Income tax, related party, and Intercompany transactions
  • Skilled in liaising with auditors (required) and tax authorities (preferred)
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Oracle, SAP
  • Collaborative approach in working with various departments, including AP, Payroll, and AR teams, to ensure a smooth monthly closure
  • Capable of guiding other departments/teams on accounting-related queries and justifications
  • Responsible for controlling GL natural account codes and creating/deleting them on a need basis
